EVN Bulgaria is part of the Austrian based producer and transporter of electricity EVN AG.

EVN supplies the South East of Bulgaria. In 2025, the company celebrates 20 years since first entering the Bulgarian energy market in 2005.

One of the main results of EVN’s investments, with a real effect for 1.7 million customers in Southeastern Bulgaria, is the reduction of the rate of unplanned outages in the electricity distribution network. From an average of 10.5 hours per year in 2005, these outages were reduced to under 56 minutes per year in 2024, or over 90% improvement in the quality of supply. This indicator is close to the average indicators in the European Union, which confirms EVN’s image as a reliable, fair and responsible partner.

Another important effect of the company’s activities and its over 2,200 employees is the reduction of network losses, which from 19.5% in 2005 are now at a level below 7%, which is close to the possible minimum. Fewer network losses mean better efficiency and lower costs for customers.
